Back to Aberystwyth..

.. from the extended 6 weeks holiday in Israel.
Due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland and all the ash above the UK and rest of Europe my flights back from Tel Aviv to London were cancelled three times and when I finally got them rescheduled it was two weeks ahead from the original flights. This all meant that I would miss two weeks of University lectures and seminars but instead receive two amazing extra weeks in Israel with my sisa.
Would and could I complain? Well sure yes, but only because complaining is one of those fun things in life and it's just good to make noise about nothing. But also I had nothing really to complain about. C'mon, an extended holiday in Tel Aviv - yes please!

So I got my holiday and it was full of fun and adventure. Early morning coffee with Hilla at the posh mall by her work place, reading at the park and getting bit by a duck, driving around in a rented car in the middle of West Bank - getting lost, driving on roads that don't exist and being stuck there by the angry Israeli soldiers.

I went to places I haven't been to since 1999, and well yeah, places I've never been to. I got to meet all/most of my sister's friends - what a joy!
I learned to make real coffee with all the steamers and real machines (and people did drink it) at the Gospel Cafe of course where I got to volunteer so many Thursdays wo wow!
In fact, when I was at the Airport on my way back, I was lining to get a cup of coffee and this lady ahead of me got her coffee too cold and the girl tried making it warm enough so many times and I was very professional, telling the lady how the milk should be between 160 and 180 degrees and boiling!

And now I am back to Aberystwyth. Fun thing about small towns - just the first time I walked to the grocery store I saw so many friends and people I know, and was lovely to exchange stories quickly while getting a bottle of milk from Spar.
It was pouring rain when I woke up at the London airport (4.50am to catch the train that I managed to miss) - and I was wearing three shirts under my leather jacket and was still freezing cold. And people spoke a language I could understand and used the word CHEERS instead of thank you (I must be back home!). And MAN, it was green! I sat in a train, watching all the sheep for hour after hour and hill after hill. I did not know that sheep were so animated animals - seriously: chasing each other and running around, trying to climb a tree and how the ears of the little lambs stand up while they're running after the mommy sheep and they look like cats or little dogs.

And I think the homeless people on the London streets are the most polite and helpful when getting lost while dragging a huge luggage in the drizzly morning weather.

All in all, every memory and all the transfers between here and there, and the time I've spend abroad and not, are still a big mess in my head and it is hard to explain what is going through my mind.
But it's lovely to be back, breath the very fresh air and have my very own space after 6 weeks of luggage life and adventure.
I love my room and I have missed the beautiful scenery from the window and what amazing friends I have, who came to celebrate Mayday in my tiny room with a picnic on the floor and wine from paper cups while it was RAINING outside.
What a beautiful day...
